Nemde Outputs

The NemSpdOutputs files contain details about the inner workings of AEMO's dispatch engine "NEMDE".

You probably don't want these files

There are pretty niche. It is unlikely that you will need this dataset. They are only useful for analysing the mathematics of AEMO's optimisation algorithm itself, not the market/grid.

The files are in a slightly different folder to most other AEMO datasets. There is one folder per month, containing one file per day. For example, June 2026 is: https://www.nemweb.com.au/Data_Archive/Wholesale_Electricity/NEMDE/2026/NEMDE_2026_05/NEMDE_Market_Data/NEMDE_Files/, which contains files like NemSpdOutputs_20260519_loaded.zip. (Ignore the NemPriceSetter_YYYYMMDD_xml.zip files. Those are for a different table.)

Large File Size

This dataset is large. Each day of data is about 170 MB compressed, or 3 GB uncompressed.

These files are in a different format to other AEMO datasets. Inside each zip are many XML files, with file extension .loaded. The structure of the XML is beyond the scope of this guide.
