RESIDUE_PRICE_FUNDS_BID

RESIDUE_PRICE_FUNDS_BIDshows the bids producing the auction outcome, without exposing participant-specific details. RESIDUE_PRICE_FUNDS_BID is new in March 2003 to support SRA Inter-Temporal Linking.

RESIDUE_PRICE_FUNDS_BID data is public. The data is available to all auction participants post the associated auction date.

Volume

The volume is very dependent on the number of active bids. An indication is about 250,000 per year.

Column Schema

AUCTIONID

Unique id for each auction date

This column is mandatory, and a primary key.

CONTRACTID

Unique id for each contract specified by AEMO

The SQL type is VARCHAR2(10). This is actually a factor/enum, with values:

  • QLD1

  • VIC1

  • TAS1

  • NSW1

  • SA1

This column is mandatory, and a primary key.

INTERCONNECTORID

Unique interconnector identifier

SQL Type: VARCHAR2(10) Polars Type: pl.Categorical

This column is mandatory, and a primary key.

Examples:

  • NSW1-SA1
  • T-V-MNSP1
  • V-SA
  • VIC1-NSW1

LINKEDBIDFLAG

A unique option id, with respect to the auction, created to show which bid elements are linked.

SQL Type: NUMBER(6,0) Polars Type: pl.UInt32

This column is mandatory, and a primary key.

BIDPRICE

Price bid for each unit

SQL Type: NUMBER(17,5) Polars Type: pl.Float64

This column is not mandatory.

Examples: 1.08, 69, 6333.6, 23184

LASTCHANGED

Date and time this record was last changed

Quantity of units bid

Polars

Casting is enums, categoricals etc is not essential, but may speed up parsing. Swapping int for pl.UInt16, pl.Int32 would also speed up parsing. However some of the datatypes are inferred, so they may be wrong.

This code deduplicates for you. Deduplication is normally only required across multiple months.

This code assumes that all columns are present, which may not be true for older files.

Each year of data is approximately 2 MB when zipped, 15 MB as unzipped CSV.
